In India, trademarks are regulated under the Trademarks Act, 1999 (‘Act’) and Trade Marks Rules, 2017 (‘Rules’). When a trademark is registered under the Act, it is protected from infringement which means that a third party cannot use the registered trademark for their products or services without authorized permission.

Trademark Class 6 is one of the Services class or category of 45 trademark classification which is covered under Nice Classification. A Nice Trademark Classification (NCL) is an international system for categorizing goods and services for trademark registration. Nearly 80,000 products and services covered under this classification.

Trademark Class 6 only covered Beers, mineral waters, non-alcoholic beverages, fruit juices. But any chemicals which are intended for medical, veterinary or personal use are excluded from this class. It includes raw material and unprocessed artificial resins, plastics or raw chemicals.
